ABOUT THE ROLE
The Red County Fire Department is seeking passionate, dedicated individuals to join our team as Firefighter Trainees. This is an entry-level, full-time training position designed to prepare recruits for the responsibilities of a career firefighter. Under close supervision, trainees will participate in rigorous academic and hands-on instruction in fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue operations, hazardous materials response, and more.
Upon successful completion of the Fire Academy, trainees will be eligible for promotion to Firefighter I.

Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Attend and successfully complete a comprehensive Firefighter Training Academy
- Learn and demonstrate proficiency in:
- Structural and wildland fire suppression
- Emergency medical response (EMT-level)
- Technical rescue and vehicle extrication
- Fire prevention and public education - Operation and maintenance of fire department equipment and apparatus
- Participate in physical fitness training to meet required standards
- Maintain professionalism and discipline during training and on-duty hours
- Uphold the core values and mission of the Red County Fire Department

Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license (Class B desirable)
High school diploma or GED equivalent
U.S. Citizen or legal resident with the ability to work in the United States
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, medical exam, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
Physically capable of meeting the demands of fire service (CPAT or similar physical ability test may be required)
(( Use of Discord platform; ))
(( Possession of at least one character that is Level 3 or over; ))
(( No recent or excessive admin record on any character. Recent is typically defined as one month/30 days, with excessive records being determined case-to-case; ))
(( Ability to roleplay in a realistic fashion with proper portrayal of a U.S. firefighter. ))
Desirable Qualifications
Current CPR and EMT certification (Basic or higher)
Previous experience in public safety or community service roles
Completion of a Firefighter I Academy or Fire Science coursework
Bilingual abilities
Must be at least 18 years of age
