Section Four - Narrative
Narrative of Incident: At around 8:47 PM, Red County Fire Department received niners about a plane crash on Route 48. Units were paged to report on duty and Engine 1 (staffed by Captain Tanaquil Snow) was the first unit to be dispatched. Upon arrival, the incident command was established and immediate planning for a primary search was started for possible injured passengers or crew staff. The fire was located to be spreading from the fuselage of the plane, after what seemed to be like an emergency landing. Rescue 11, Engine 11, and HazMat 2 were requested on the scene. Captain 10, the only unit on scene at this point, successfully extracted the pilot from the cockpit and no other lives were found on board. The injured patient was carried out and away from the burning plane as Rescue 11 (staffed by Firefighter I Adelaide) marked their arrival on the scene as the second unit. The pilot was handed off to Rescue 11 when Engine 1 set up a crosslay and an eductor was connected to stop the spread of the fire towards the wings. Engine 11 arrived on the scene soon after, Firefighter Austin was ordered to set up another crosslay whereas Probationary Thurnberg was tasked with setting supply lines for both engines. Rescue 11 was given the go-ahead to transport the victim to Central Montgomery Memorial after immediate on-scene treatment. Quint 1 and HazMat 2 arrived on the scene soon after, Engine 11's deluge gun along with three lines were utilized to suppress the remainder of the fire and a secondary search was ordered. The firefighting took approximately 30 minutes and all units were cleared, the scene was handed off to Fire Prevention Bureau.
