SUBJECT: RCFD Line-of-Duty Death – Firefighters Matthew Lemus and Hannah Frost

Red County, SA – It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to announce the passing of Firefighter III Matthew Lemus and Firefighter II Hannah Frost during the night of 10-11 February 2024. They were involved in a TNT explosion test at the Aperture Research Facility to ensure both Fire and Hazardous Material safety. The crews were fighting the exploded sites. There was the presence of unexploded materials, and the firefighters were hit by the force of the blast and by debris. The crews on scene immediately rendered care and the injured firefighters were transported to the Fort Carson Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

Matthew Lemus was a dedicated firefighter with 13 years of service. Matthew was a 35 years old and he began his career with the Red County Fire Department in 2011. He spent most of his time at the Fire Station 10 in Red County, where he was a Special Operations firefighter.

Hannah Frost was a dedicated firefighter with 5 years of service. Hannah was a 27 years old and she began her career with the Los Santos Fire Department in 2019, before getting transferred to the Fire Station 10 in Red County.

They will be solely missed by their fellow firefighters and family, but they will never be forgotten.

Information on funeral with full honors for Matthew and Hannah will be announced as soon as possible.
